Description

Oversized table tennis blade from JOOLA, designed by the world class defender Chen Weixing, for extreme precise feeling. The top quality 5 ply blade construction, incorporating samba and enzo plys, guarantees best control and confidence in all situations.
During testing we were impressed when combined with Octopus – JOOLA developed this for long pimple specialists should look at this as a possible alternative to frictionless long pimples as the blade has terrific dampening effect, and helps in both dropping returns low and close to the net and absorbing heavy loop.
Speed 38, Control 98, weight 85-90g, plys 5.

1 review for JOOLA CHEN CWX-Defender TABLE TENNIS BLADE

I use this blade with S&T Hellfire long pips on the backhand and S&T Secret Flow on the FH. I find the blade excellent for control because it is a slow blade with a relatively soft surface which helps to take speed off of incoming balls. I believe the outer ply is yellow samba wood and underneath this is a special glue layer which helps…in a way I am not too sure about. The head is oversized which gives it a larger sweet spot. This blade is great for pushing and chopping and also great for driving and topspin. It tends to be heavy if you use to sponged rubbers on it as due to the oversized head it takes more rubber/sponge.

I recommend getting the blade lightly varnished because the outer ply tends to come off when you peel off old rubbers. I’m on my second of these as the first one got too damaged because of this.

There is an older version of this bat with a green/blue handle – I have tried both versions and slightly prefer the older version for some reason (if you have an old version, I’d be interested in buying it!) – but the new blue bandle version is perfectly fine.

    Overall – recommended!
